The feedback we had from staff was very positive and I really feel it gave them the opportunity to reflect on their practice.

Developing Fruitful Relationships with GPs

In any organisation it is important to know your product, customers, competitors and partners in order to succeed. In the NHS this is becoming more evident in our need to compete, collaborate and deliver good customer experience with our GPs to attract repeat and new patient referrals. Securing effective relationships with GPs requires recognition of each individual’s needs and the ability to deliver them successfully in order to maintain a good reputation.

Collaborators

With GP Consortia commissioning services on behalf of patients it is more important than ever for Trusts to maintain and develop relationships with their GPs and existing practice –based commissioners in order to understand their needs and their perceptions of hospital services.

NHS Elect works with its members to explore the myths and misconceptions about GPs, how to gain an understanding of the profile of patients within the various GP consortia and the techniques for achieving this. This is essential in order to develop and maintain trusting and meaningful relationships with GPs.
